George Clement Burke

George Clement Burke 64, of Covington formerly from Hanover, Jamaica passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020. He was born in Jamaica to the late John and Clementine (Summerville) Burke. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Burke Brown. George leaves behind to carry on his memories, his wife of 35 years Lavern Smith Burke, children; Marsha (John) Duffy, Patricia Burke (Roger) Dawson, Junior (Chinnet) Burke, Neika Burke, his siblings; Millicent Burke, Peter (Jennifer) Burke, Billie Burke, Hyacinth Drake, John Burke, Delta (Billie) Jackson, Ellis Burke, Leroy Burke, Veronica Burke grandchildren; Jonathan, Alison, Keira, Denisha, Kemoi, Matthew, Ethan, Eric, and an abundance of nieces and nephews, and not to leave out his four legged baby Sochi. George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a friend to many. George was a peace maker, an all-around nice guy who was loved by everyone he met. He was loved and adored by all his family which includes his church family at the Voice of Pentecost Church. He had an infectious laughter that cannot be denied. It just makes you want to laugh no matter how serious a situation might have been. One of George's past times was taking long walks with Sochi. Sochi was George's protector and companion. Sochi will miss his grandpa. George is loved and will be sorely missed. Mr. Burke's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2pm at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services located at 11405 Brown Bridge Rd Covington, GA with Pastor Gavin Moon officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 5pm-8pm. Guests may sign the online register at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
