Noel was born in Saint Andrews, Barbados, West Indies to the late Charles and Gertrude (Gilkes) Alleyne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, George Alleyne, Violet Foster, Dorothy Brathwaite, Glenfield Alleyne, Elaine Haynes, Muriel Mayers; stepson, Darryl Parker; and granddaughter, Kiara Garrett. He was a man of many talents and interests which included: carpentry, automotive mechanics, plumbing and electrical work. In his spare time, Noel loved going to Home Depot, Lowes and the Habitat for Humanity Restore to “shop” for things needed for his next project. He also enjoyed studying history, following current events, and stayed abreast of national and world politics. Noel was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church in Oxford and he enjoyed riding on his John Deere. In a world in which people lack integrity, kindness, sensitivity, humor, intelligence, loyalty and honor, Noel Alleyne possessed all of these qualities in spades. Noel, our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was a man whose word was his bond; if he told you that he was going to do something, you never had to wish or wonder, He always did the right thing. Even when no one was looking. Even when it was not appreciated, He was a man not of meaningless words, but of action. If Noel counted you as a friend, you had a friend indeed. A friend who did not listen to your problems for the sake of humor or gossip, but instead, Noel listened for how he could help. As a result, he was always helping. One of his first projects was building a house for his parents in 1969. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary Pearl (Crenshaw) Alleyne of Covington; son, Wayne Alleyne (Athena) of Queens, NY; daughter, Beverly Nicole Alleyne of Covington; and stepson Michael Crenshaw (Wilma) of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Michael Dewayne Crenshaw, Angela D. Crenshaw, Dewayne Parker, Crystal Parker, Briana Givens Alleyne, Alexis M. Garrett, Alyssa K. Garrett, Devon M. Garrett, Nolan M. Alleyne, Aiden C. Garrett, Cameron E. Alleyne, Kristen N. Alleyne; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Reid of London England, Jocelyn Wallace of Baltimore, MD, Evril Smith of Brooklyn, NY, Hazel (Leslie) Osbourne of Charlotte, NC; brother, Victor Alleyne of Brooklyn, NY. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Becky Baker and Rev. Eric V. Fledger, Pastors officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
