She was a devoted member of her church, where she found great joy in attending services and playing the organ. Her love for children shone through in her dedication to the puppet ministry, where she brought smiles and laughter to many young hearts. As a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and “Nana”, she was a cornerstone of her family. Her nurturing spirit extended to her hobbies, which included crafting, gardening, bird watching, and shopping. Her creativity and love for nature were evident in everything she did. She cherished her grand and great-grandchildren and adored her beloved cats, Luna and Phoebe. Whether at the beach or in the mountains, she found peace and happiness in nature's beauty. Kay was a great friend to many and will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Kay was born in Finley, TN. to the late James M and Mable (Tilford) Viar. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her baby brother James Viar, brother Dennis Viar, and sister Renee Viar. Kay will be remembered with love and affection by those she left behind, daughter and son-in-law, Tammie (Preston) Pope, son and daughter-in-law, Billy (Lisa) Peacock; grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Tyler, Jessi, Mercedes (Hayley), Summar (Elijah), Austin, Seth, Haley, and Isaiah; great grandchildren, Ana, Karsyn, Ava, Maryah, and J’Mari; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry (Linda) Viar, Gary Viar; sister-in-law, Debra Viar along with many other family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Vandy Pope officiating.
