James Wyman Dove

James Wyman Dove, 80, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Manchester Senior Care in Conyers. He was born in Madison County, GA to the late Dewitt and Isa Evans Dove. James enjoyed rabbit and quail hunting and fishing. He loved going to eat at Long Horns Steakhouse. James retired after 30 years of service with Lithonia Lighting and went on to work another 12 years with Newton County School System as a bus driver before retiring a second time. In his spare time we worked on lawnmowers. He was a member of Newton Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Damron Dove; sister, Betty Jo Craig; and brother, Neal Dove. His legacy and memories live on in those left to cherish their time spent with him. James is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Tina Dove of Monticello; grandchildren, Kenneth and Emily Dove of Hoschton, Joshua and June Hall of Covington, and Michael and Ashlee Dove of Covington; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Noba Lucille “Cille” Sexton, Rita Sorrow, Zeporah Sevill; brothers, Anthony Dove, John Dove and Wesley Dove; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Mr. Dove will be held Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Tony Howeth and Dr. Ken Reed officiating. Interment to follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
