In Loving Memory of Linda Irene Nevers, September 1, 1942 – March 6, 2025 Linda Irene Nevers, 82, of Conyers, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 1, 1942, in San Francisco, CA, to the late Earl and Utahna (Broadbent) Thompson. Linda grew up in California, New Orleans, and New Jersey, and graduated from high school in Westfield, New Jersey. After graduating from high school, Linda attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and later graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in New York City. Her career was as a secretary and executive administrative assistant. One of her favorite jobs was working at the United Nations in her twenties. Linda met Stanley- the love of her life. Once married, they started their life together in Plainfield, New Jersey. Then they moved to Massachusetts where they had their daughter, Erin. Stanley’s job moved them around the United States to Massachusetts, Florida, California, and finally settling in Southeast Georgia in the 1990’s. Linda lived a life full of love, joy, and cherished moments with those family and friends she held dear. Linda was a woman of many passions. She found peace and happiness at the beach. She loved swimming, dancing with her husband, creating beautiful crafts,. collecting jewelry, volunteering, and she took great pride tending to her garden. An avid reader, she could often be found immersed in a good book. She was a proud member of the Women’s Club and Deer Run Ladies Group ,where she cherished the friendships she built there. A devoted animal lover, Linda adored her dogs, especially her beloved Ruffles, who brought her immense joy and companionship over the years. Above all, Linda’s greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, and her family and friends. She retired from Newton County Board of Education in 2015, and made many wonderful friends along the way. Her love and warmth created countless memories that will be treasured forever . Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Stanley Nevers of Conyers; daughter, Erin, and son-in-law, Christopher Moreau of Lilburn; her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Moreau of Lilburn; her twin sister, Lorna Shea of Conyers; her sister, Roberta Dunn of Las Vegas, Nevada; her nieces, Jessica Dunn and Ashley Dunn; and her brother-in- law, Ron Nevers, her sister-in-law, Judy Nevers, her niece, Jill Nevers and nephew Christian Nevers; and, of course, her cherished fur baby, Sandy. A Gathering of Remembrance Service will be held March 26th, at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will be receiving friends at 1:00 PM with service following at 2:00 PM.
