In Celebration of Marjorie (Marge) Cox Boldin Marjorie (Marge) C. Boldin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. She was the daughter of Roy Allen Cox and Bertha Virginia (Queen) Cox. Marge grew up in Chase City, Virginia and graduated from Buckhorn High School. As the eldest daughter, she helped raise her younger siblings and worked on the family farm. Her first job off the farm was at Leggett’s Department Store where she and her future husband, Franklin (Jack) Boldin, first met. They were married at Concord Baptist Church on June 25, 1948 and lived together in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, where they began raising their family of four children before relocating to Virginia Beach and later to Stone Mountain, Georgia. Mom worked for 18 years at Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory in Chase City, VA and was a homemaker for many years before starting a catering and wedding consulting business in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was an active member of many churches including Bayside Baptist Church, Virginia Hills Baptist, Indian Creek Baptist and Zion Baptist Church. Her role in churches included Sunday School coordinator and hospitality committee member. Her lifelong loves and interests included family, church, gardening, sewing, baking, cake decorating and guitar playing. Marge is survived by her children; Debbie Boldin, Beverly Goodwin (James), Kim Boldin (Pam) and Frank Boldin (Michelle); sisters, Irene Owen and Shirley Bell, seven grandchildren; Eric Leef (Allison), Kelly Thompson (Dean), John Goodwin (Yasmeena), Lindsay Goodwin (Brenda), Rachel Goodwin, Amy Boldin, and Brock Boldin and 13 great-grandchildren, Janna, Madeline, Nolan, Caroline and Zachary Leef, Patrick and Kate Thompson, Caden, Ava, and Lilah Goodwin, Emma and Austin Teasley, and Cora Hendrickson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Jackson (Jack) Boldin, parents, Roy A. Cox and Bertha Q. Cox, and brothers, Edward Cox and Haskins Cox. A service celebrating the life of Marge Boldin will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Zion Baptist Church in Covington, GA. Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 24, 2020, 5:00-7:00 pm, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 11405 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington, GA 30016.
