Mary was born in Gloster, MS, to the late Jerry Reed Ramsey, Jr. and Ceola (Haynes) Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Pastor Jerry Reed Ramsey, III, Noah Ramsey, Paul Anthony Ramsey and Charles Herbert Ramsey, sister, Connye L. F. Collins. Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting, working crossword puzzles, cooking for her family and friends, she was a seamstress and caregiver. Mary was known to have the keys to the city when she opened her door 24/7 as a foster mom to hundreds of people down through the years. Mary never met a stranger in need that she didn’t try to take care of or help. She loved taking road trips with her daughters across the country, making those precious memories that they all will cherish forever. At times, she would stop along the way to enjoy the beauty that God had created. Mary was known for her green thumb; she could grow anything that she touched. Those who knew Mary knew her love for the Lord. She was a member of the Upper Room COGIC in Raleigh, NC under the tutelage of her pastor, Bishop Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. She was part of the Mother’s Board at the church. Mary was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, two daughters and son-in-law, Cassandra (Dale) Dallman of Conyers, Cynthia Quinn of Covington; grandchildren and their spouse, Candi McQuirter, Sha-Nay (Dana) Parker, Melvin (Lauren) McQuirter, Aisha Quinn, Tramica (Marius) Young, Tiffany (LaMonte’) Parker, AJ (Ann) Quinn, Ladarius (Courtney) Quinn, and Nathaniel Quinn; great grandchildren, Sa’Nyah, India, Brooke, Brittain, Carter, Malachi, Pae’Chance (Greg), Kyngston, Bonnie Rae, Kiya, Lyanna, Londyn, Paris, Lena, Donte’, Jr., Ambenique, Arianna, Amani, I’zhane, Sky, Jacob, Max, Marcus, Jr., Promiss, Sanyah, Quincy, Pralee, Mia, Jordan, Elijah, Lennix, Sam, Xavier and Caleb; great great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Nasir; sisters, Mattie Garrett of Seattle WA and Alfrica Jacques of Des Moines, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; a host of many special friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Walker will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with Bishop Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. officiating.
