Michael Patrick Hause

Michael Patrick Hause, 77, of Conyers, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Decatur Center for Nursing and Healing. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Cornelius and Agnes Theresa (vonBronsfled) Hause. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (Smith) Hause, and his brother Joseph Hause. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Ellen-Hause Funner, daughter, Christine Hause-Flannery; grandchildren: Andrew Joseph Murphy (Michelle Pogue), Christopher Ryan Murphy (Demi Mahoney), Danyelle Catherine Jimenez (Ernesto Jimenez), Christine Brooke Klobe (Udit Sehgal) Dylan Patrick Carter (Isabell Charlton), and Aidan Michael Carter (Laura Herman); great-grandchildren: Johnathan Jimenez, Jacob Jimenez & Milo Carter, step-children, Greg (Dorry) Ansley, Tami Ansley, grandson, Jason Ansley, siblings, Barbara (Daniel) Feinsinger, Anne (Charles) Sension, Patricia (John) Duffy, Phyllis (Scott) Smith, along with 14 nieces and nephews. This obituary was lovingly prepared by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, “Pop-Pop”, brother and friend. Michael was a graduate at Hatboro Horsham High in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. After graduation he attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he got his industrial engineering degree. He worked as an industrial engineer for Exide and C & D Technologies combined for over 20 years, before retiring and then becoming a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Bullard in McDonough. Golf was Michael’s life. He loved golf and breaking anything over 80 was his goal (Golf lingo). He and Laura used to sit and watch PGA and LPGA tournaments and he would explain all the lingo to her. Michael and a group of fellas had fantasy golf picks every year. They'd get random picks and put their money up in hopes that their picks won. He loved his yearly trips in September with the group of 50 guys to Myrtle Beach for a week to golf. Michael enjoyed volunteering every year for 4 days at Eastlake for the PGA Tour here in Atlanta. He had the best time. Michael had various other interests also. He enjoyed meeting up every few months as a member of the Rockdale GOP at Amici's in Conyers. Music was a favorite of his as well, he loved his soft classic rock, and country music such as Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis, and the group Alabama. He enjoyed watching television such as Two and a Half Men and programs on the Fox News channel. Michael really enjoyed having an ice-cold Miller Lite on tap and smoking one of his really good cigars at his favorite neighborhood watering hole, The Outpost in Conyers Georgia. Everybody at The Outpost expressed their deepest sympathies and will miss him dearly. One of his favorite rituals was his Saturday morning breakfasts with Greg at the Waffle House on Hazelbrand Road in Covington, GA. They had a regular time and table so their servers would watch for one or both of them to come and, with great anticipation, the server set their table & brought their usual beverages & most of the time they ordered their usual meals. The whole gang at the Waffle House will miss him dearly because he and Greg always made their day and always put a smile on their faces when they walked in the door. For anyone who really knew Michael, they knew that ice water was his favorite beverage of all time and every time he took a sip of ice water he got this look on his face like a little five-year-old kid in a candy store and he'd say, "I love it”. He loved going to the Mexican restaurant sometimes on Tuesdays for “Taco Tuesdays” or on Wednesdays because they had the “margarita Wednesdays”, and their fajitas. He loved salads, grilling out a good bone-in ribeye with a baked potato and he absolutely loved to cook and bake. Greg always looked forward to dad's smoked hams at Thanksgiving and Christmas because Dad did such a great job. He was a member at St. Pius Catholic Church in Conyers, GA and an avid & devout churchgoer for most of his life and always set an example by praying every morning when he woke and before he went to bed at night. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held Friday, August, 11, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services.
