He was born in Austell, GA to the late Henry and Bessie Lee (Howington) Taylor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Vivian Louise Taylor, twin daughters, Wyomi Taylor and Naiomi Taylor, grandson Richard McKee, sisters, Kathleen Mildred (Taylor) McKee , Clara Etta Taylor, Joyce Nellie (Taylor) Dodd, and Annie Pearl Lee Pugh, and brothers, Dennis Martin Taylor and William Henry Taylor. Ray proudly served his country in the US Army for 2 years. He worked and retired from Cellofoam North America after 39 years of service. Ray worked many jobs there but was a machinist most of his career. He was a loving and devoted husband, which was evidenced by the way he treated Vivian as his “Princess” for the 54 years they were married. He was a fearlessly loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ray loved and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and nothing was better than his time spoiling them. He enjoyed going to the mountains and travelling all over the place through his job. His hobbies included old cars, trucks, tractors, camping and boating. He was a dear soul, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His survivors include his daughter Melissa McKee and her companion Louis Wiley; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Talisa Taylor; daughter and son-in-law Becky and Marty Banks; grandchildren Brandy Sewell (Matthew), Makayla Taylor Plourde (Clayton), Cheyenne Aaron, Hunter Banks, Cheyenne Banks, Starr Banks, Noah Banks, Whisper Griggs, Dakota Griggs; great grandchild Jacob Taylor, and Baby Sewell on the way; along with other loving family members. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at 11 am in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
