Raymond Leach, Jr.

Raymond Leach, Jr., 78, of Stockbridge, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Emory University Midtown Hospital. Junior (as he was known to family and friends) was born in Waynesburg, KY, to Raymond and Grace (Burleson) Leach. His hobbies included working on lawnmowers and fishing, and he enjoyed watching the occasional football or baseball game. He was a Kentucky Wildcats fan throughout his life; his favorite place to travel was back to Kentucky to visit family; and he was never one to turn down a chance to enjoy a good meal. Junior was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Leach; his mother, Grace Leach Adams; brothers, Jay Leach, Bill Leach, and Freeman Leach; and sisters, Betty Rose Collins, Virginia Powers, and Geneva Smith. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 55 years, Ann Leach of Stockbridge; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Kerry Vanderford of Hampton and Tina and Tommy Ellis of McDonough; his siblings and their spouses, Marie Fisher of Waynesburg, KY; Faye Ginn of Bradenton, FL; Lucy and Michael Alderman of Bradenton, FL; Jerry and Sylvia Leach of Waynesburg, KY; and Gerry and Jennifer Leach of Somerset, KY; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Leach, of Douglasville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; along with his 2 dogs, Maggie and Sadie. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2pm in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services, with Pastor Eddie Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve.
