Sara Ruth Gleaton

She was the daughter of the late Clinton and Mary Lou Kitchens. Ruth was preceded in death by her spouse, Bryant Gleaton and siblings, Buddy, Louise, Frank, Johnny and Larry. Ruth was the oldest living member of Honey Creek Baptist Church in Conyers and a member of the Circle of Love group at church. Ruth loved going to church. It was nothing to find Ruth loading up her lawnmower and heading to church to cut both the church and cemetery grass. She also enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. Ruth will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Tissie) and Ronnie Owens of Covington; grandchildren and their spouse, Brian (Brittney) Owens of Covington, Faith (Kenny) Ridling of Madison, Brandon (Heather) Owens of Thomasville; great grandchildren, Elijah, Brielle, Hunter, Reed, Wade, Griffin, Beau, Lucas and Logan; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kitchens and Cornelia Kitchens, both of Covington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special four legged friend, Casper; a host of many friends. Funeral service for Ruth will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2 pm in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services with grandson-in-law, Kenny Ridling officiating. Burial will follow at Honey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Conyers. The family will receive family and friends on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the Circle of Love at Honey Creek Baptist Church. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. Please understand we will be following the CDC COVID guidelines.
