Susan Korbel Christian

Susan Korbel Christian 76, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was a devoted and loving wife of 31 years to her late husband Harold, a nurturing mother to her children and affectionately known as "Mimomma" to her grandchildren, and a dear friend to many. Born in August 1947 in Blue Island, Illinois, to the late Thaddeus John and Joan Marie (Collette) Korbel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold Gibson Christian, son David, brother Thomas, and 2 infant siblings. Susan dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Her devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren was evident in every moment they shared together. She embraced life with warmth and passion. In her youth, she found joy in riding horses, mastering archery, and expressing her creativity through crocheting. She delighted in the kitchen, where her culinary talents brought comfort and joy to her family and friends. Music was a lifelong love, and she found solace in listening to Cody play his guitar, the melodies weaving through her life's memories. Susan was a devoted member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church for 44 years, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. She lived her life as a testament to her Christian values, radiating kindness, compassion, and love to everyone she met. Her friendships were deep-rooted, and she was always there to offer support and a listening ear. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by her family and friends, Tammy West, Richard (Yajaira) Christian, Jason (Angel) Christian, Cody (Esmarlin) Christian, grandchildren Garrett, Wyatt, Cristina, Christopher, Alex, Emma, Auston, Ethon, Sara, Crystalynn, Matthew, Koa, Riley, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters Samantha and Syndee, brother Ted, and her furry baby Electra and a host of loving family and friends. Susan will be deeply missed but remembered fondly for her unwavering love and the joy she brought into the lives of others. A Service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 12pm at Philadelphia UMC 2194 W Hightower Trl, Conyers, GA 30012 with Pastor David Collins and Pastor Alex McGinnis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am-12pm. Interment will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery.
