Walter Wayne “Beef” Moore 76, of Covington, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Porterdale, GA to the late Jim and Modine (Wheeler) Moore. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Johnny Moore. Wayne better known as “Beef” is survived by his sweet wife Trudy Ross Moore, sons Thomas Moore, and Chad Moore, grandchildren Kristen Paige Thomas, Michael Bradly Moore, great grandchildren Keegan & Cora Thomas, sister Judy (Bud) Ross, mother-in-law Mildred Ross, sister-in-law Mary Jo Moore, special friends Joe Hammons, Ronald Smith, Jimmy Overby and many other loving family and friends. Beef was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a man who never met a stranger, and would talk to anyone, and everyone. He enjoyed farming , working on cars, riding his golf cart all over the family property, hanging out at the lake, and going to the mountains. He had a love for livestock especially his donkeys Blaze and Jennie. He was a simple man who enjoyed hanging out on the porch with his family and friends. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1pm at Wheeler Funeral and Cremation Services 11405 Brown Bridge Rd Covington, GA 30016 with Rev. Chris Walden and Rev. Tyree “Tiny” Terrell officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. Please understand we will be following the State’s COVID guidelines. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please bring and wear a mask while in the buildings, and you are encouraged to practice social distancing.
